The primary role of the Manager, Business Development is to actively solicit and obtain new business assisting in achieving the company’s strategic financial growth objectives. The incumbent identifies potential key major customers representing significant opportunities domestically as well as globally.

- Work with potential customers to analyze their needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor, working closely with senior management to deliver ideas and strategies.
- Build business processes and solutions that address customers’ needs and are consistent with their goals and objectives.
- Lead the business development process / sales cycle including: identify internal and external stakeholders, meet with appropriate stakeholders to ensure they are aware of their involvement and required deliverables, complete RFP / RFQ, create and deliver presentations and ensure ongoing communication with the customer throughout the process.
- From the sales process with potential customers through ongoing management and maintenance with existing customers, develop a solid working relationship with internal teams
- Participate in transportation events and associations that the customer participates in.
- Provide input to senior management on the development of these goals such as volume, margin, and revenue growth.
- Provide input to the annual budget.

- College Diploma / University Degree in business or related discipline is an asset.
- CITT and PLog are assets.
- Minimum 10 years proven sales success as the leader of the sales process.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Transportation / Logistics.
- Strong knowledge of IT based end-to-end supply chain solutions management,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and written.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a team environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Willing and able to travel as required.
