Title Regional Manager – Contract Logistics

Our customer is the Global Leader in International Freight Forwarding and Worldwide Contract Logistics. With over 80,000 employees in 1500 locations and in more than 100 countries, they deliver integrated solutions across the supply chain that creates competitive advantages for their customers.

The Regional Manager is responsible for growing the regional business to meet corporate growth objectives in revenue and profitability. They will have full P&L responsibility for the Country and is responsible for the day to day operations in these locations.

- P&L responsibility for sites
- Work with solutions team to develop processes for current logistics networks and for entering new markets
- Direct and assist site teams and controller in analyzing strategic and tactical processes and related costs
- Liaises with client to acquire detailed understanding of their short and longer term service needs provide technical and process advise and gauge their satisfaction levels
- Review of site level business plans to support the attainment of corporate objectives and budget
- Oversee project management and ensure in-depth analyses of business issues and project results are presented in a clear and concise format for on-boarding of new accounts and potential accounts
- Maximization of revenue and profitability within each site including:
- Participation in and/or support of local business development
- Evaluate current structure and make recommendations to drive performance improvements
- Collection and analysis of market data for decision making
- Active development and support of key customer relationships
- Think strategically when making planning and making decisions
- Lead by example – develops, motivates, and rewards those on his/her team.
- Support and champions HR initiatives aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the workforce.
- Guide, coaches, and develops high potential employees and future leaders in the Branch environment.
- Effectively communicates company direction, objectives, and progress to Branch employees.
- Ensure that employees are well informed of current events and issues that affect.
- Encourage communication and cooperation with other departments throughout the organization.

- Experience in a similar position
- Strong track record in a sales function – preferably within the logistics / freight forwarding industry
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in order to achieve business results
- Superior people management, negotiation, and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial in focus – proactively identifies and pursues business opportunities that will increase the market share/profitability of the Branch and/or Company
- Change oriented – actively promotes and leads initiatives to increase the Branch’s capability or long term viability
- Interpersonal adaptability – able to “connect” and effectively communicate with a wide variety of people
- Team player – able to successfully integrate various perspectives and collaboratively align mandates within a team
- Gets things done – follows up on progress and gets involved when necessary to ensure initiatives are driven throughout the organization
- Achievement oriented person who can engage and motivate others in order to “makes things happen”
