The Planning Scheduler is a key role within the Generation Planning and Network Operations functions through creating schedules and resource rebalancing for field operations, project managers & planning personnel by coordinating internal and external requests for service, planned and unplanned maintenance and capital projects.
||Job Duties Support the planning function by forecasting, developing and implementing a series of master schedules to cover all work on a 20 year, 5 year, 1 year and monthly timeframe and coordinate the schedules with the maintenance department. Plan, organize and deliver critical path schedules for projects and project proposals based on milestones from project, engineering, procurement and construction managers Monitor and be accountable for the scheduling control system Prepare and present project planning and scheduling status reports to management and recommend actions as required Anticipate peaks and emergencies; plan for contingencies both from an equipment and manpower perspective Monitor for timely completion of scheduling work and rescheduling, as necessary Balance manpower requirements with other work and coordinate with other functional areas of the business Implement as necessary, quality improvements initiatives for the scheduling process in concert with stakeholders Assist project leaders in determining schedule priorities

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
Technical Institute graduate with a Mechanical or Electrical Technologist Diploma (or equivalency) with a Project Management background
5 years of field experience in Resourcing and/or Project Management services role Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Access, Outlook/Primavera Project Planner
Hydro Electric experience – preferred Experience with a work management – preferred
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
