Position Overview Working in accordance with the organization’s strategic vision, core values and leadership competencies, reporting to the Manager, LNG Planning & Logistics, this position is responsible to develop and manage efficient logistics systems for FortisBC’s Liquefied (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) businesses.
Responsibilities Identify and develop the logistics system that will enable the development of FortisBC’s LNG and CNG business lines. Negotiate appropriate agreements with third party carriers and logistic service suppliers. Secure funding for development of logistics assets.
Coordinate all aspects of the logistics related to the day to day reliability and performance to established service standards of the supply and distribution of LNG. This includes coordinating shipment and managing tank levels. Manage, review and approve daily bill production processes and procedures; oversee the accurate and timely documentation of shipments and delivery of customer invoices.

Develop and maintain policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance regulations are met. Participate in the improvement of standards, policies and procedures leading to the continuous enhancement of service quality and customer satisfaction. Identify technological, quality and productivity enhancements. Support regulatory process for project approvals by assisting with the submission of regulatory applications and responding to Information Requests.

Work with the Emergency Preparedness to ensure Emergency Response Action Plans and Environmental Emergency Plans are developed and maintained for all LNG and CNG businesses.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers Develop key working relationships with contract carriers. Establish and measure service levels.
Requirements Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Engineering from a recognized program plus 4 to 7 years’ business experience. Transportation and Logistics specialization an asset.

Previous experience managing or coordinating transportation and logistics or working with a transportation services provider is a key qualification for this position.

In addition previous experience developing and implementing Emergency Response processes and programs is also an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in negotiations, logistics management, and coordination of complex systems is an asset
• Knowledge of energy market place
• Knowledge / experience in the transportation and logistics industry
• Experience negotiating contracts and service agreements
• Demonstrated customer account/relationship management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues
• Demonstrated ability to research and document relevant topics for potential customer
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of the regulatory process
• Knowledge of LNG & CNG an asset
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically
