Title Budgets & Forecast Analyst
Job Status Full Time Regular
Position Overview The Budgets & Forecast Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the budgeting process is effectively integrated with organizational strategies and to provide reporting to senior leadership that enables them to manage financial performance.
Responsibilities •Develop and maintain quarterly and annual capital and deferred budgets and associated reporting for the FortisBC group of companies.

•Set up and track Capital and deferred projects according to BCUC approval and Company policies.

•Work with internal stakeholders to enhance the budgeting process with the aim of continuous improvement.

•Provide ad hoc reporting to assist the organization in understanding and achieving its budget targets.

•Prepare monthly capital variance report for internal stakeholders.

•Provide capital and deferred reports for BCUC regulatory and corporate requirements.

•Participate with preparation of yearly annual report for BCUC filings.

•Participate with preparation of revenue requirement filings and support in the approval process.

•Provide technical and functional guidance to capital projects coordinators and financial project supervisors.

•Assist with answering stakeholder (including external auditors) and regulatory information requests.

•Monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.

•Review and approve month end capital and deferred report narratives.

•Process month end/capital and deferred journal vouchers.

•Participate in Special Projects/other duties as assigned.
Requirements Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

•Undergraduate degree, preferably Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Administration, with a focus on accounting/finance.
•Completion of or working towards completion of a recognized accounting/finance designation.
•Minimum of 5-7 years of related accounting/budgeting experience.
•Corporate budgeting and/or capital reporting experience preferred.
•Proficient with computer systems including Word, Access, PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
•SAP experience preferred.
