Position Title Environmental Services Engineer - Construction Administration

Summary of Duties Under the general direction of the Manager III, Construction Administration assists in the administration and project management for the construction and maintenance of capital infrastructure.
Work Performed Assists with the planning, organizing and supervision of the Construction Administration staff.
Directs technical staff in the planning, design, contract preparation and construction of Infrastructure projects.
Reviews performance of personnel reporting to him/her and makes recommendations to the Division Manager concerning hiring, salary adjustments, promotions, demotions and terminations.
Assists in the preparation and administration of the operating and capital budgets.
Directs consultants, contractors and technical staff in the scheduling, contract administration and construction of infrastructure projects.
Develops and recommends design criteria, construction standards and specifications for infrastructure projects.
Administers capital projects including review of contract documents, evaluation of tenders, recommendation of the contract award and provides direction on changes to the project during construction.
Negotiates claims for extra construction or consulting work. 
Evaluates and recommends a program for the reconstructive maintenance of the local and secondary collector street network.
Performs business case analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of infrastructure programs.
Prepares cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
Provides technical advice and information to developers, consultants, other divisions and departments, government bodies, utility companies and the public.
Arranges and attends meetings with other departmental staff to plan, discuss and coordinate infrastructure projects.
Represents the Construction Administration Division Manager in his/her absence.
Participates in professional and technical organizations to further transportation planning, design and technical specifications.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
Experience Five years related experience
Compensation Range $75,384 to $101,646
