Summary of Duties Assisting the Stormwater Management (SWM) Manager and Environmental Engineers of SWM Unit by applying engineering principles to maintain and develop the City of London’s storm/drainage and stormwater management Infrastructure. The engineering student prepares maps, graphs, charts, models, presentation graphics and civil engineering plans to client specifications, using manual and automated techniques. The engineering student assists in developing and maintaining various departmental databases (i.e. SWM Facility inventory, storm and sanitary sewer catchment mapping) and are also responsible for maintaining a filing, retrieval and reproduction system for unit plans and reports in hard copy and digital forms. The engineering student may as part of the duties arrange and attend meetings with other Department/Unit staff, consultants, contractors to plan, discuss and coordinate projects on behalf of the Unit/Department as required and assist the Engineer or Technologist in investigating, reporting and making recommendations to minor complaints and inquiries.
Qualifications Must be enrolled full time in engineering at a recognized Canadian University involving civil, water resources or environmental engineering and/or science. As well, must intend to return to school full-time in September 2013.
Compensation Range $14.67 per hour
