Position Title Municipal Elections Clerk
Position Type Temporary - Full Time

Summary of Duties

Reports to the Manager of Licensing & Elections.  Assists in all clerical functions related to the Municipal Election

Work Performed
  • Assists in providing election information to candidates and the general public by telephone, in person and by correspondence.
  • Assists in updating and maintaining computer master file of all election systems such as list of electors and election workers file.
  • Assists in the recruitment and training of the Deputy Returning Officers, Poll Clerks, Election Assistants and Inspectors.
  • Assists in the determination, contract and confirmation of all voting locations.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties such as filing, checking, sorting, indexing and record keeping related to the municipal election.
  • Assists in ordering all necessary election supplies.
  • Prepares letters, reports, statements and other documentation from copy and dictating machine.
  • Operates standard office equipment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Three months’ related experience.
Specialized Training and Licenses

Typing speed required is 40 w.p.m.

Basic knowledge of wordprocessing, spreadsheets and various software.
Compensation Range $27,324 to $38.586
Other Information This posting is for two positions. These are temporary positions being filled on a temporary basis up to October 30, 2014.
