Position Title Golf - Janitor

Summary of Duties Under the direction of the Golf Course supervisor, the maintenance support staff play a key role in the experience at the golf courses as they are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facilities. 
Work Performed
  1. To assist with the security of the facility by periodic walking inspections of the rooms, main levels and parking lots.
  2. Ensure that all City of London policies and procedures are adhered to: WHMIS,Health & Safety, Emergency Evacuation, Anti-Harassment/Diversity.
  3. Maintenance of garbage and recycling.
  4. Set up and take down for program and special events.
  5. Provide customer service to guest inquiries and complaints.
  6. Duties include but are not limited to: spot cleaning of the facility as required, minor maintenance, emptying of garbage, cleaning of grounds, and snow shoveling.
  7. To be responsible for other tasks as assigned by Facility Supervisors within the basic job function. 
Qualifications
  1. High level of comfort dealing with the public.
  2. Standard first aid/CPR is an asset.
  3. Completion of 100% staff training is a condition of employment.
  4. Attend staff training sessions as required.
Compensation Range $10.25 per hour based on a 20 - 35 hr. work week*

  • Weekly hours will fluctuate

POLICE VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK (PVSC)
 
NEW STAFF:  Will be required to submit a PVSC that has been conducted in the past twelve (12) months.


RETURNING Staff:

a) If a new PVSC was submitted for 2012 employment, applicants may sign an Offence Self Declaration Form (please click on this link for an electronic copy of this form) stating that their status has not changed since their last PVSC submission. A completed form must be submitted with application.
b) If a PVSC was not submitted for 2012 employment, applicants much submit a new one that has been conducted in the past twelve (12) months.
c) In order for your application to be considered complete, please mail or deliver your ORIGINAL PVSC or Offence Self-Declaration Form to City of London, Thames Valley Golf Course, 850 Sunninghill Avenue, London, Ontario, N6H 3L9.
 
LETTERS OF REFERENCE


NEW Staff:  Must submit two (2) letters of reference with application. Letters cannot be from family members.

 
RETURNING Staff:  Do not need to submit a letter of reference.


STANDARD FIRST AID/CPR


Standard First Aid/CPR is offered through the Spectrum and various other agencies throughout the city. All applicants must have CURRENT Standard First Aid (not Emergency) certification prior to the commencement of summer programs (by end of June). Applicants do not need to have certification in order to apply.
