Title Partnership Vice President

Overview

The Partnership Vice President (PVP) will be a key member of United Surgical Partners International Management team. This executive will focus on optimizing the facility partnerships and USPI’s relationships with physician partners at the equity/partner level.

The Partnership Vice President will:

  • Recruit new physicians to join facility partnerships and/or use USPI facilities for their surgical procedures
  • Communicate financial performance data with individual physician partners
  • Work with key physician partners to achieve healthy, long-term partnerships
  • Act as an integral part of USPI management team to maximize the financial success of those partnerships

Measurable PVP Performance Expectations are:

  • Establish strong personal relationships with a defined number of key physician partners
  • Recruit a defined number of key physician partners at each assigned facility in a 12 month period

The PVP will meet the above expectations by:

  • Leading all aspects of new physician recruitment in conjunction with physician partners and other key members of the USPI management team
  • Collaborate with Regional Vice President and Administrators to convince existing physician partners to fully utilize all of their cases that are appropriate for our facilities
  • Initiating and sustaining an ongoing and comprehensive dialogue with key physicians about their personal financial objectives and the results of their partnership investments
  • Advising physicians in a way that they find meaningful on their financial investment in the USPI facility
  • Establishing strong personal relationships with key physician partners so that these physician partners will inform and confide any information that may have positive or negative implications for the partnership.
  • Actively participating with the Partners’ Advisory Board (“PAB”) at each facility; working in concert with the facility Administrator and Regional Vice President of Operations (“RVP”) to manage the expectations and returns of the PAB
  • Assisting the PAB to use properly defined facility valuations as a key tool in structuring the partnership and in recruiting new physician partners
  • Negotiating new partnership agreements when needed
  • Communicating with the Market or Division President regarding physician concerns and needs, both on an individual and partnership level
  • Establishing strong working relationships with the RVP and Administrator
  • Ensuring complete and timely communication and coordination of partnership strategy
  • Structuring an appropriate portfolio of physicians within the USPI facility partnership
  • Building a physician prospect plan according to the current operational strategy.
  • Executing physician prospect plans by recruiting new physicians accordingly and in tandem with appropriate USPI development team resources and health system representatives.
  • Strategically targeting struggling competitive facilities as a source of new physician partners

Other Considerations:

  • Position may require up to 75% travel, depending on the make-up of the assigned market
  • Position offers high bonus potential
