Position Title Intermediate Accountant

Our plan to rapidly develop our brands, grow revenue, reach past 100M, and eventually, sell one or more of our brands for a high exit value. We are currently searching for a highly talented, driven and experienced Intermediate Accountant with room for growth, to be a key part of this growing team.
Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for:

•Accountability for preparation and presentation of monthly financial statements to the Controller
•Develop, execute and maintain a detailed annual cash plan ensuring that operations always has cash to buy product on time to meet sales forecast, to ensure that tax and debt is managed, that terms with vendors are negotiated as needed
•Be responsible for daily cash flow management
•Proactively own and ensure a minimum of weekly meetings with Sales, Marketing and Ops to ensure that monthly budgeted numbers are on track or exceeded. Own the resolution and reporting process for any anticipated variances.
•Be an integral part of a team that organizes a proper with lawyers achieving a split out into product focused units, tax efficiency and asset security
•Ensure all transactions are in compliance with Complex Company Structure. Ensure that new corporate structure is adhered to, including (1) review of monthly f/s to ensure that all intercompany balances eliminate cleanly (2) review of monthly f/s to ensure that corporate documentation is still appropriate and (3) ensure proper documentation of files including minimum monthly intercompany invoicing.
•File GST, WCB and T4’s
•Oversee payroll function for Canadian and US payroll
•Co-ordinate planning and timely and accurate filing of Company tax returns
•Improving and implementing new processes to increase company wide efficiencies
Skills In your role as Intermediate Accountant, you will report to the Controller and own the financial statement reporting process to free the Controller to oversee overall finance function of the Company.
You are excited about ‘doing whatever it takes to’ to own getting 10/10 financial statements to the Controller on time. You are great at communication and thrive in an environment that is very hands on right now and accept the challenge of planning and implementing processes to automate.

You thrive in fast moving, fast growth entrepreneurial environments, have a ‘solution based’ mind set and be comfortable with possibly working in the grey area. At times, your work/life balance might not be so balanced.
Requirements •3+ years’ experience in complex financial statement preparation and ownership
•Experience in a high growth entrepreneurial environment with tight cash flow as a result of rapid growth
•Experience in consumer products businesses with manufacturing operations
•Previous experience working with small, medium or large scale ERP experience with NetSuite is an asset
•Proven experience working in a high growth environment with an entrepeurial owner;
•Strong problem solving skills and the ability to apply cognitive thinking is a must
