Title Embedded Software Engineer
Position Overview We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to be part of our Hardware Product team. The successful candidate will engage in Embedded software design and be involved in all stages of product development. You would be reporting to the Hardware Systems Engineer Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Developing embedded code for Webtech’s in vehicle location device product line
  • Maintaining a complex and highly configurable product while striving to simplify installation activities and improve end user experiences.
  • Creation and execution of software test plans.
  • Product support and liaison with customer service
Requirements
Experience: 
  • A strong background programming with C and C++
  • Greater than 5 years of low level embedded software development experience, including:
    • experience with J1979, J1939 and similar vehicle bus protocols (key desired asset)
    • familiarity with real time operating systems and multi-threaded application development driver development. Embedded Linux or Android   experience desirable.
    • proficiency with TCP/IP stack utilization - use of various communications stacks and protocols
    • extensive experience using C++ in a resource constrained embedded environment
  • Experience writing test plans and executing test cases.
 
Skills:
  • Familiarity with scripting languages - TCL an asset
  • Familiarity with ARM processors
  • Excellent communication skills (written, and verbal)
  • Excellent team player
 
Education:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline is required.
