Title Financial Analyst
Position Overview Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the compilation, maintenance and analysis of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, cash flow forecasting, analysis of sales and cost plans, reporting of key performance metrics as well as related variance analysis and completion of ad hoc analysis projects that arise from time to time such as comparable company, M&A and industry analysis. This role will also work with the Director, Finance to produce the monthly and quarterly reporting to management and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordination of the annual budget process, including compilation of the annual consolidated budget, sales forecast, budgeted financial statements and supporting analyses
  • Preparation and maintenance of quarterly sales and income forecasts and reforecasts
  • Creation and maintenance of financial models, including 3 year sales and profitability forecast and associated sensitivity analysis, to support corporate strategy
  • Preparation, analysis and reporting of key financial performance metrics
  • Compilation, maintenance and analysis of monthly cash flow forecasting
  • Data extraction and mining from accounting, CRM and other systems in order to create both ad hoc and recurring reports to support the Operations, Finance and Executive teams
  • Assist the Finance team in preparation of Monthly Management Reports and Variance Analysis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial and operating systems
  • Identification of process inefficiencies and implementation of improvements
  • Providing support to executives and preparing ad hoc reports and analyses for management including key consolidated variance analyses.
  • Ad hoc special projects as assigned
Requirements Experience:
  • 5 years + experience in a similar role
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience in financial modeling & reporting
  • Experience with financial system data mining including reporting and database toolSkills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and systems including a good understanding of IFRS
  • Solid understanding of financial statements including consolidations and eliminations
  • Expert level Excel knowledge and proficiency with Access and Power Point
  • Strong understanding of databases and data mining
  • Good understanding of reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
  • Tenacious and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity
