Title Product Manager
Position Overview As the Product Manager you are responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. As the Product Manager it is your responsibility to ensure that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
Responsibilities
  • Define market requirements for Webtech’s products and services
  • Carry out the Product Owner role as defined in the Agile SW process
  • Prioritize and manage backlog of new features, enhancements and bug-fixes
  • Conduct market research and monitor technology trends and industry news related to the wireless AVL and Telematics industry
  • Define buyer and user personas for product and market message planning
  • Conduct competitive analyses
  • Prepare launch (‘Go to Market’) plans for specific market segments, including objectives and metrics, working with Marketing Communications, Sales, Training, and external partners
  • Create standard presentations, demo plans and materials, and White Papers as needed
  • Support direct sales, partner, channel training
Requirements Experience:
  • 5+ years direct experience as Product Manager/Product Owner
  • Experience delivering HW products and SaaS applications on wireless data services
  • Minimum of 1 year direct experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Experience in Transportation, Government or Fleet Service Industry sectors is an asset
 
Skills:
  • Knowledge of technologies: cellular, Wi-Fi, satellite, GPS, communication protocols, web portals, business intelligence software
  • Knowledge of industry applications for commercial, field service and government fleets
  • Management of internal and external communications, translating technical features into business benefits and vice-versa
Education:
  • Degree in a related technical field (i.e.: Computer Science)
  • MBA is an asset
