The District employs more than 875 people and provides services to about 42,000 residents and 2800 businesses.

The District of West Vancouver’s Financial Services Division has an immediate opening for a permanent, full-time Deputy Director of Financial Services.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for providing advisory services on a wide range of financial and budgeting issues to managers and staff. The incumbent will assist the CFO with planning, developing, implementing and coordinating the financial services functions; direct the District’s Financial Reporting & Accounting functions, processes and systems; and direct and coordinate for the District’s budget process. Ability to analyze and exercise a considerable degree of sound, independent judgment in resolving problems related to financial services is crucial to success in this position. Vision-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, the candidate will bring a proven ability to develop credibility and work effectively with elected officials, employees and external stakeholders.
Requirements The successful candidate will have completed a recognized professional accounting program or Commerce degree specializing in Accounting or Finance and will possess membership or eligibility for membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Certified General Accountants or the Certified Management Accountants Associations, plus considerable related experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, computerized financial systems and supervisory experience. A BC Driver’s Licence and a personal vehicle are necessary for this position.
