Position Title Coordinator, Client Services

Salary $20.08/hr
Job Summary The Coordinator, Client Services will ensure that the goals and objectives of their applicable Community Support Services (CSS) programs are achieved through marketing, recruiting, screening, and monitoring, as well as be responsible for all processes associated with the intake of clients and the growth and development of programs.
  • Determine the eligibility of clients referred to the program; interpret and assess the client’s needs through home visitations
  • Recommend alternate resources for clients, as appropriate
  • Provide support, resources and feedback to volunteers while enabling them to provide quality service to clients
  • Assign suitable volunteers to clients according to identified needs, accompany volunteers to the client’s home for the first visit, closely monitor the relationship and ensure that the standards and policies set forth by VON are met (where applicable)
  • Research, explore and identify possible funding opportunities for the continuation of CSS programs
  • Collaborate with other health professionals inside and outside VON in an open and professional manner
  • Maintain and update a database of clients with details of recruitment, referrals, assessment and matches
  • Report to Manager, Community Support Services on a regular basis, providing program updates and reports as requested
  • Supervision of staff, including administrative and field staff
  • Convey a positive image of VON through participating in community group activities
  • Member of the Community of Practice committee and other VON committees as required
  • Perform additional functions as delegated by the Manager, Community Support Services
  • Post-secondary diploma in Health Care, Social Services or equivalent
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in Volunteer Management or Program Coordinator role
  • Procura experience a strong asset
  • Warm manner and genuine interest in people with the ability to inspire confidence on the part of professionals, clients and volunteers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking experience
  • Personal suitability including the ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion and judgment
  • Must possess strong decision-making skills, including during emergency situations
  • Excellent planning, organizational and assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a member of the VON team
  • Must be willing and able to adapt to change and to work flexible hours
  • Strong computer skills are required, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to quickly learn and work with a computerized Database Management software
  • Must have personal vehicle and possess both a current driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Current criminal background check will be requested
