Position Title Health Care Aides

Job Summary
Health Care Aides provide companionship, personal care and health maintenance services to clients within VON's Home Support Vitality Program to assist clients in achieving an optimal level of independence and well-being.
Responsibilities
Health Care Aides will provide home care services, which can include personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation and/or respite to clients.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Health Care Aide, Personal Support Worker or Home Support Worker certification (or equivalent) is mandatory
  • Experience in personal care and/or household management preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service focus with ability to adjust to working in different social and economic environments
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Ability to work a flexible shift rotation, which can include days, evenings and weekends

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; Hand movements.
