Position Title Home Support Worker
Employee Group Regular FT
Program or Dept. Home Support
Job Summary The Home Support Worker will provide homemaking services, companionship, personal care and health maintenance services to clients in their homes within the framework of VON policies, procedures, standards and quality and risk management.
  • Provide home support services to high risk seniors in their homes.
  • Develop and implement program plans, meeting the identified needs of each client.
Qualifications •Secondary School Education
•Foot handler’s certificate an asset
•Experience working with seniors in different social and economic environments
•Household management experience
•Must be comfortable with seniors and people with disabilities
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, take direction, and work independently
•Must have a current drivers license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
•Current criminal background check will be requested

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; Hand movements
