Position Description Position Summary:
Building on an already well developed Mental Health Program our Mental Health Program, is looking for a Clinical Educator to support and mentor patient and staff education. As part also of the educational team at THP you will act as a practitioner, consultant, mentor and facilitator for team members and support management within the In-Patient (Out-Patient) Mental Health program at the Mississauga Hospital site. Key to this role is identification of staff learning needs followed by facilitation of action plans, the development of educational programs and the application of technology to learning methods, in order to address gaps and introduce new knowledge.
Key Qualifications:
A BScN is required
A Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education is preferred
Five years of recent nursing experience is required, as well as, BCLS certification
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required combined with the ability to prepare and teach in a classroom setting and clinical setting
Previous experience in developing programs, evaluation of teaching methods and in reviewing research pertinent to the respective clinical area(s)
Your philosophy of education promotes a positive and continuous learning climate and is enhanced by your enthusiasm and innovations in nursing and nursing education
Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team
Ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations
Highly effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills
Positive attendance and work record essential
