| Trillium Health Partners is a newly merged hospital serving Mississauga, West Toronto and the surrounding communities. It is one of Ontario’s largest community-based academic health networks and has a teaching affiliation with the Mississauga Academy of Medicine at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Medical Administration, the Senior Advisor will be responsible for supporting the operations and leading projects in the Medical Administration Department. The position will ensure that a comprehensive approach to planning, developing, implementing and monitoring initiatives pertaining to the over 1000 Medical/Professional Staff is undertaken. Specific responsibilities/accountabilities include: Monitoring legislation and MOHLTC directives that impact patient care and physician practice and preparing appropriate briefings to the Medical Administration leadership team. Developing and implementing new and innovative ideas and processes that positively impact the Medical/Professional Staff and the organization. Coordinating the development of regular reports and presentations to the Medical Advisory Committee, Board of Directors and/or to the Medical/Professional Staff. Leading the development of the medical administration policies and procedures, as well as Program specific rules and regulations. Supporting the processes related to the management of medical-legal and code of conduct issues. Developing and maintaining processes to receive regular updates and statistics from various departments (i.e. Patient Relations Office, IT and Health Information Management) to monitor compliance of specific medical administration policies. Facilitating the completion of action items established through Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) and MAC subcommittees. Leading the organization-wide process to ensure regular reviews and appropriate sign-offs are obtained on medical directives, delegated controlled acts and MAC approved policies and procedures. Planning, implementing and evaluating new medical administration projects and initiatives, as directed by the Director, Medical Administration. Key Projects include: Developing and implementing a general orientation program for all new members of the Medical/Professional Staff. Creating, implementing and managing the content and structure for an internal Medical/Professional Staff portal that would house information relevant to members of the Medical/Professional Staff. Coordinating the development and implementation of an annual performance review process for all Medical/Professional Staff. Monitoring medical/professional staff satisfaction scores and supporting the development of satisfaction improvement initiatives. Qualifications:
Masters Degree, Health Administration/Business Administration or in a health related discipline; Experience working in the healthcare industry/hospital environment; Experience in program planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; Experience working with physicians is preferred; Exceptional leadership skills; Possesses the ability to support effective team planning, program development and quality improvement; Possesses the ability to function effectively during periods of rapid change and transition; Ability to analyze data, problem solve and develop business cases; Project Management skills/experience; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated change management skills; Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word and the ability to construct reports and presentations with well-structured thoughts and presentation style. |
