Position Description  
Key Qualifications:      
  
Registered Nurse, and member of the College of Nurses of Ontario
CNA certification in psychiatric/ mental health nursing preferred
Minimum five years current Mental Health experience in an out-patient mental health setting
Knowledge or experience related to concurrent disorders preferred
Experience with case co-ordination, counselling and group facilitation
Expertise in evidence based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.
Sound working knowledge of legislation related to mental health care and treatment
Knowledge of relevant medications and their side effects
Knowledge of community resources
Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Positive work and attendance record
 
Position Summary:
 
Provide clinical assessment and evidence based treatment for adults with major mental illness
In partnership with clients and families/significant others and treatment team, develop, implement and evaluate overall treatment goals
Educate and support families/significant others
Consult with community agencies to maintain coordination in the client’s treatment process
