| Key Qualifications: RN - General Certificate from Ontario College of Nurses, Masters an asset, Experience in crisis intervention with individual, couple and family counselling required Previous clinical mental health experience in an acute care hospital setting is required Sound knowledge of mental health disorders, DSM IVR classifications and pertinent legislation Sound knowledge of mental status evaluations, psychosocial assessments, suicide risk assessments, psychiatric history taking, and discharge planning Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team, under pressure and within a changing environment Skilled working with a broad range of client groups and their significant supports Able to maintain timely and thorough documentation Working knowledge of community resources Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Reliable, flexible and positive team player Position Summary: Provides crisis intervention and short-term counselling within the Mental Health Urgent Response Services (MHURS) which consists of a nurse, social worker and psychiatrists who provide urgent, outpatient care for patients referred from Emergency Services and other providers, MHURS is a key component of the full continuum of care for mental health patients at Trillium. |
