Position Description  
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to become an integral member of the interprofessional Eating Disorders Program. The role of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will enhance the care of patients and their families through the integration of theoretical, evidence based, ethical and experiential foundations of nursing practice within an independent and collaborative framework. The NP will lead or co-lead psychotherapy groups, supervise meals, model normal eating behaviours and assess health status through physical examination and interpretation of test results. There may be an opportunity to provide consultation on treatment issues related to adolescents with eating disorders being seen at the Credit Valley Hospital site.
 
Qualifications:
·         Master’s prepared preferred
·         Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing
·         Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
·         Masters Degree in Nursing or an approved nurse practitioner component
·         A Nurse Practitioner’s certificate from a recognized program
·         Registration in the Extended Class (EC) with the College of Nurses of Ontario
·         Experience working in mental health with knowledge of anxiety disorders, depression, personality disorders and trauma
·         The ability to work effectively within an interprofessional collaboration model
·         Demonstrates experience working with the adult/adolescent eating disorder population
·         Group psychotherapy experience preferred
·         Exceptional skills of leadership, self-direction, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
·         Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
·         Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills
·         Proven ability to interact with patients and their families in an empathetic manner
·         Satisfactory performance and attendance required
