Position Description Position Summary: This Project Specialist (PS) will be responsible for supporting leading a variety of project components, as well as coordinating budgets, timelines, critical paths, and research. The successful candidate may be responsible for supervising work of other team members. PSs report to their Department Lead or Director. The successful candidate will:
Support and lead a variety of project components, including coordination and research
Provide project and research support, methodology and process to the team and collaborators
Coordinate needs, budgets, timelines, critical paths, engagement practices and other project requirements
Support and lead various research tasks, including but not limited to literature reviews, engagement, data collection, quantitative and qualitative Analysis, study design, research ethics board application, grant writing, manuscript writing and preparation, etc.
Produce proposals for new business
Learn project management and change management skills, tools, methodologies, and best practices based on prior work experience, knowledge, skills and training
Participate in a wide range of department activities such as planning, research, strategy development, presentations, maintenance of professional accreditation, and informal learning sessions
Work with an interprofessional team of hospital professional staff, clinicians, service providers, vendors and others to help others implement projects on time, on budget and with appropriate quality
Other duties as may be assigned
Key Qualifications:      
Demonstrated working knowledge of project management and research processes/methodologies through experience in a diverse range of projects and project roles
Team-focused with a commitment to excellence
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Superior analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
University degree
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Visio. Experience working with research analysis software is an asset
Demonstrated experience in preparing project schedules, budgets and reports
Ability to build effective working relationships with a dynamic, professional team
Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplined, diverse environment
