Position Description Key Qualifications:      
Registered Nurse - Degree and CNO registration
Advanced Clinical Preparation with 5 years clinical experience in psychiatric nursing including previous experience as a Clinical Leader preferred
CNA Mental Health Certification required and/or willingness to complete

Demonstrated excellent communication, facilitation, critical-thinking and conflict resolution skills

Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated commitment to best practice and quality improvement
Commitment to the vision and goals of the Mental Health System
Understanding of change process/theory and an ability to manage and facilitate others to manage change
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage, organize and prioritize day-to-day patient care activities, staffing, scheduling and resource utilization
Monitor and address patient and family satisfaction with care
Facilitate individual and inter-professional team teamwork and effective work processes
Facilitate staff orientation and identify staff learning needs and appropriate resources
Participate in hiring, orientation and performance evaluation
Lead/facilitate teams to achieve unit goals & objectives
Awareness and a good understanding of the principles/protocols that govern health and safety issues
Oversee patient flow
Create an environment that supports and advances professional practice, teamwork and communication through mentoring and role modeling application of “expert” clinical knowledge
Liaise with members of inter-professional team to ensure excellence in patient care
Support the accountability of team members to the Manager with regards to patient care, professional conduct and performance support
