Title FILLED: Logistics Sales and Operations Manager GTA, ON 6047
Overview The Logistics Sales and Operations Manager will be tasked with growing existing Freight Brokerage business and developing opportunities to expand into new markets while managing overall operations responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead, develop and motivate all staff while developing strong customer and carrier relationships. Previous experience leading change across an organization is needed in this role along with a university degree and a minimum of five years of trucking or brokerage operations supervisory experience. Candidates possessing an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for being responsible for their own success will do well in this role.

Responsibilities Provide effective and inspiring leadership to the Operations team, managing the transition to a POD structure
Provide training and development opportunities to staff; act as an advisor, coach, mentor and motivator
Ensure Operations staff have resources to follow through on sales opportunities
Source, select, train and develop new staff in accordance with company culture and values
Responsible for the achievement of business growth targets
Manage Operations department performance to meet budgetary goals; utilize best practices to drive efficiencies within the department
Grow business with current customers through the provision of exceptional customer service
Leverage customer knowledge to create superior transportation solutions
Represent organization to the local and international transportation community at trade shows and industry events
Serve proactively, leveraging Operations expertise and experience, to help grow the business
Use data to drive more efficient and effective business decisions; use KPIs to measure success
Collaborate with the larger organizational team and leaders to drive organization forward
Ensure operations are managed in line with compliance requirements determined by internal standards, customer standards, and all external regulations
Maintain relationships with the best carrier providers that exceed customers’ safety criteria to ensure care beyond the standard in carrier selection

Requirements A University degree in Logistics or Supply Chain related study is required
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in Trucking or Brokerage Operations
Proficient in Dispatch, Rating, and Billing procedures
Proven ability to successfully implement organizational change in an entrepreneurial company
Proven collaboration and influencing skills
Demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget
An achiever who takes ownership
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to recruit and develop talent
Builds trust in relationship with others
Calm, even-tempered, and unshakable
Proficient in the use of technology, including Office Applications, TMS, database applications (AS/400)
