||Plant Operating Engineer
Efficiently provide operation and maintenance of assigned energy assets in Sudbury including plant energy, performance monitoring and activity reporting (i.e. energy metering and production reports).
Ensure proper execution of Ontario Power Authority and Sudbury Hydro Operations Agreements and Thermal Customer Energy Services Agreements.
Demonstrate a positive, professional presence within the Sudbury Energy Team, to the customers and external parties as a representative of Toromont Energy.
Proactively ensure ongoing maintenance of assigned properties as outlined and directed by the Manager.
Conduct site audits, safety and generation building and equipment inspections at Toromont and customer sites.
Conduct power plant life cycle cost monitoring, analysis and reporting.
Ensure the integrity of information systems and timely and accurate document control at all times.
Demonstrate safe work practices consistent with the Plant Operating Standards/TSSA.
- Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviours and objectives at all times in support if Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/ Programs and best practices.
Must have 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certification.
Relevant industry experience, specifically thermal energy, reciprocating engine and co-generation power plants.
Proven knowledge and experience with chilled water systems, including reciprocating, screw type and absorption chillers, boiler circulation pumps, sprinkler system and compressors.
Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience directly related to district energy, power generation systems including mechanical electrical, civil, structural and industrial technical disciplines knowledgeable with SCADA and PLC as related to plant operations.
Customer-centric with excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and a sense of urgency.
Self-directed with exceptional planning and organizational skills with the ability to complete daily operating tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours and perform on call support as required in support of plant operations
Must have valid Ontario’s Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract, with access to vehicle and be willing to travel as the position requires (some travel within the Sudbury area between plant locations).
