Position Heavy Equipment Technician

Reporting To Service Manager
Key Accountabilities
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards
  • Service heavy equipment within the established time standards while maintaining quality workmanship
  • Prepare accurate service reports and possess a working knowledge of Caterpillar products and systems
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations
  • Participate in safe work and environmentally sound behaviours and training at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Program(s) and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Heavy Equipment Technician License and 3 years experience as a practicing Technician
  • Must possess basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication
  • Must be able to read and understand prints, drawings and technical bulletins
  • Detail oriented and safety conscious with excellent relationship management
  • Customer centric with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Self motivated and able to manage often changing and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with CAT systems an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work shifts if required in support of the busines
