Position Yard Person

Reporting To Product Support Coord/Office & Yard Spvr
Key Accountabilities
  • Assist equipment coordinators with branch inventory control of equipment and attachments, including daily yard inventory and updates on shipped and received equipment
  • Coordinate heavy equipment shipping, receiving and repairs with the service department
  • Ensure new/used machines leave the yard in safe and good working condition
  • Provide digital pictures and all documentation of all equipment entering and leaving the yard
  • Organize, track and file the same documents in a timely manner
  • Ensure yard security is maintained  
  • Assist with other tasks as required including minor repairs to building, snow removal and steam cleaning of equipment
  • Monitor the after-hours yard cell phone
  • Promote and participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviours and objectives at all times in support if Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/ Programs and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Post Secondary Education and relevant work experience operating heavy equipment
  • Possess a solid mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive/truck/heavy equipment
  • A customer centric, self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Service oriented team player with strong business acumen
  • Sense of urgency and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Computer literate with exposure to Microsoft Office Applications and/or inventory systems
  • Current comprehension of competitors’ equipment would be an asset
