We are seeking a talented Heavy Equipment Technician for our St. John's Branch to build and maintain strong customer relationships.  Our Technicians are critical to the business and what make Toromont CAT a trusted dealer in heavy equipment.

Position Heavy Equipment Technician

Reporting To Customer Service Supervisor
Key Accountabilities
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within the established time standards
  • Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain excellent customer relations
  • Undertake assignments as required in support of client needs
  • Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/ Programs and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Heavy Equipment Technician License
  • Must possess basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication
  • Must be able to read and understand prints, drawings and technical bulletins
  • Detail oriented and safety conscious with excellent relationship management
  • Customer centric with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Self motivated and able to manage often changing and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with CAT systems would be an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work shifts as required in support of the business
  • A valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
