Position Parts Counter Trainee

Reporting To Parts Systems & Development Trainer
Key Accountabilities
  • Complete rotational experiences in various departments to learn and understand the business with respect to parts
  • Perform warehousing procedures including picking and shelving parts as well as counting and adjusting of inventory
  • Ensure customer's needs are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Process all core returns and warranty parts
  • Coordinate the daily functions of the parts operations, including procuring, ordering, backorders, etc for internal and external customers
  • Travel occasionally to other Toromont locations on a short term basis (possibly to some remote areas) to provide parts support as the business requires (a few days to a month)
  • Participate in safe work and environmentally sound behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary Education with a technical focus and/or technical aptitude with 2 years experience in a relevant industry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with strong business acumen and attention to detail
  • Customer centric with strong relationship building capacity to collaborate with diverse cross functional groups
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast paced environment with multiple and changing priorities and aggressive deadlines
  • A self-motivated team player with leadership potential and the drive to increase responsibilities
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of business needs
  • Must have solid computer literacy, especially with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Knowledge of CAT SIS, or experience with Cat parts operations or similar systems would be an asset but not required
  • A valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract (a Forklift License would be an asset)
