Position Rental Specialist

Reporting To Heavy Rental Fleet Manager
Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate with all other branches, sales and service teams to provide timely responses to customer inquiries and ensure rental procedures are followed
  • Analyze the needs of the customer to ensure the proper rental equipment is recommended and provide detailed technical information
  • Manage rental unit deployment through the rental period to the return and redeployment from one customer to another as scheduled
  • Ensure the execution of customer rentals including shipping, work tools and shop requirements
  • Prepare rental agreements with accurate pricing, collect insurance and credit releases
  • Encourage continuous improvement in shop and field operations by building and maintaining working relationships with various levels of management and the wide range of suppliers that support Toromont’s rental goals
  • Answer all incoming customer rental requests either by phone or in person and recommend equipment to rent or sell for each customer job
  • Create and distribute equipment documentation and update all equipment files with accuracy
  • Maintain DBS to reflect rental equipment locations and process final invoices and recover damages on returned rentals
  • Participate in ongoing Caterpillar product knowledge training
  • Participate in safe work and environmentally sound behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Program(s) and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Post Secondary Education with 3+ years experience in a rental or construction industry
  • Experience with heavy equipment would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to form and nurture trusted and long term partnerships internally, externally and at all levels
  • Able to deliver results in a fast-paced, demanding and deadline driven environment
  • Customer centric with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Innovative and able to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Confident and self-directed with the ability to make independent decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and able to handle complex situations
  • Must be willing and able to do shift rotations in support of the business
