Position Overview We are looking for certified Group Fitness instructors for the following classes:
 
·         Choreographed Classes - Step, Hi-Lo, Kick ‘n’ Box, Hi/Lo impact
·         Non Choreographed Classes -  Indoor Cycling, Bootcamp
·         Non Cardio Classes -  Stretch & Strength, Body sculpt, Core Conditioning
Minimum Requirements  
All candidates must provide proof of group fitness certification and be currently registered with a recognized organization (BCRPA, BCAK, CSEP, CanFit Pro, CFES). Additional certification to teach special populations such as 3rd Age/seniors, Pre/post-natal and Adapted fitness is an asset. Previous experience teaching is preferred. All instructors must have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate. Candidates should have strong and clear communication skills and have a passion for health and wellness. A practical demonstration of teaching skills will be a component of the screening process for all candidates.
 
Individuals must complete a Criminal Record Check prior to employment and be prepared to provide medical information as required.

Currently vacancies are available at a variety of recreation facilities including: Cloverdale Recreation Centre, South Surrey Recreation Centre, North Surrey Recreation Centre, Newton Wave Pool, and the Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex.  
Department Recreation - Instructors
Note Effective fall 2013, City Hall will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility located in North Surrey (King George and 104th area). Surrey's New City Hall (NCH) is part of the Build Surrey program, designed to make Surrey an even more exciting place to live and work, and to position the city for growth over the next decade. NCH will act as a catalyst to stimulate job creation in the city and will be easily accessible to residents and businesses.
