Position Overview As a Community Services Assistant 3 you will be involved in community service work of moderate complexity involving public contact, assisting staff by planning, organizing, promoting, and implementing educational school programs at the Surrey Museum.
Responsibilities You will plan, schedule, implement, deliver, promote, evaluate and provide feedback on a wide range of curriculum based school programs and services, including but not limited to special events, spring break and summer day camps, interpretive gallery tours, presentations of heritage displays and demonstrations. You will assist in the development and distribution of promotional material of the programs; supervise, schedule and recognize docents, volunteers and summer junior staff. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Creativity and the ability to work independently are inherent to the position.
Requirements Candidates with college or university training or equivalent work experience in education, museum education or heritage programming are encouraged, supplemented by 2 years related experience or an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience. Completion of a criminal record check will be required. Valid BC Driver’s License with a safe driving history and Emergency First Aid and CPR Certificate are also required.
