Title Senior Project Manager (Key Focus - Financial Projects)
Job Status Full Time Regular
Overview
As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll turn your attention to defining projects, identifying business requirements, detailing project specifications, managing risk and scope as well as implementing corporate financial solutions and ensuring smooth operational transition.  You possess strong leadership and directing skills and have a proven ability to lead teams through large or multiple concurrent IT projects.  This is complex work that sees you perform business process analysis, design, and simulation, as well as quality assurance of projects from start to finish following standard project methodology under the direction of the project office.  One of your key initial assignments will be working on the implementation of the City’s new corporate financial system.
Scope
You have seasoned relationship and team building skills and can communicate complex ideas in a way that fosters consensus. Ability to know when and how to coach staff, mentor staff, provide leadership and delegate work to achieve results.
Your high level understanding of financial organizational business systems, industry requirements and technology will ensure that you keep the City of Surrey at the forefront of emerging trends and help achieve the business values and objectives. Your ability to facilitate and champion changes and communicate with relevant stakeholders at all levels will be a definite asset.

Requirements
You deliver what you promise, can manage priorities and present realities while planning the future, develop timelines, reach milestones, and keep your team focused on the end results.  Budget experience is a must and you should be open to collaboration with relevant business units throughout the City to align work with strategic plans. A degree/diploma in a related field plus at least six to ten years or directly related experience is a must, and a Canadian Accounting Designation or similar accounting experience is a definite asset.

Note Effective fall 2013, City Hall will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility located in North Surrey (King George and 104th area).
