The City of Surrey’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking casual Lifeguard/Instructors to provide customer service, fun and interactive program Instruction and effective safety supervision for the patrons of Surrey’s four Indoor Pools.
||As a Lifeguard / Instructor, you thrive in a high energy, team environment that encourages and recognizes success. You will also ensure the facility is well maintained and kept clean and safe on a daily basis, in accordance with BC Health Act. You will perform routine maintenance such as cleaning change rooms, and performing scheduled checks of water quality and equipment functions. Performs lifeguarding duties and instructional duties of aquatic programs for all age groups. Knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, filtration and recreation facility maintenance; current guarding techniques and departmental procedures including applicable safety regulations.
Requirements include a current certificate in: National Lifeguard Service Award, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and CPR “C” with Auto External Defibrillation certificate. Other desirable courses would include: BCRPA Aquacize Instructor, Learn to Dive Instructor etc.
This position requires an individual who enjoys interaction and teamwork and who is committed to the delivery of a beneficial recreational experience to the City of Surrey.
