||Full Time Regular
||This position involves the full range of Park Maintenance activities, from industrial landscaping through to high-end horticultural gardens. There is currently two positions avaliable.
||Typical duties include assisting with scheduling, training and supervision of parks staff; assisting in administering/inspecting contracts for Parks Division and undertaking fieldwork which may include pesticide application, pruning, weeding, irrigation, pathway maintenance, plant installation, grading, tree condition assessments, turf management. You also will respond to inquiries from the public and community groups.
Applicants should have the ability to make independent decisions and be physically able to carry out work of a heavy manual nature in all weather conditions.
||The successful candidate will have Completion of grade 12, supplemented by successful completion of five additional relevant courses from an approved post-secondary education institution plus a minimum of 2 years recent experience in landscape maintenance and/or landscape construction.
OR you have completed Grade 12, supplemented by a Technical Certificate Program (one year full-time) from an approved post-secondary institution, supplemented by 18 months of recent experience in landscape maintenance and/or landscape construction.
OR you have completed a diploma program from an approved post-secondary institution, with a minimum of 6 months recent experience in landscape maintenance and/or landscape construction.
The successful candidate will be required to have a valid BC Driver’s license and a current pesticide applicator license (Landscape General Category).

||Effective fall 2013, City Hall will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility located in North Surrey (King George and 104th area). Surrey's New City Hall (NCH) is part of the Build Surrey program, designed to make Surrey an even more exciting place to live and work, and to position the city for growth over the next decade.
