Title Community Services Assistant 3 - Program Assistant

Overview As a Community Services Assistant 3 at an 1894 historic farm site, you will be involved in heritage programming work of moderate complexity involving public service, assisting staff by planning, organizing, promoting, implementing and delivering heritage programs and services.
Scope You will plan, schedule, implement, deliver, promote, evaluate and provide feedback on a wide range of programs and services, including but not limited to: special events, workshops, interpretive tours, heritage demonstrations, educational courses, bus trips and hands-on experiential activities. You will assist in the development and distribution of promotional material of programs; supervise, schedule and co-ordinate instructors, junior staff and volunteers. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, creativity and the ability to work independently are inherent to the position.
Requirements Completion of Grade 12 and some post secondary education from a recognized institution, supplemented by 2 years related experience including supervision in cultural work or the area of specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Completion of a criminal record check will be required.  An Emergency First Aid and CPR Certificate are also required.

Note Effective fall 2013, City Hall will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility located in North Surrey (King George and 104th area). Surrey's New City Hall (NCH) is part of the Build Surrey program, designed to make Surrey an even more exciting place to live and work, and to position the city for growth over the next decade. NCH will act as a catalyst to stimulate job creation in the city and will be easily accessible to residents and businesses.
