Reporting to the Vice-President Academic, the Manager, Program Development will oversee a team to provide information, market research and analysis and project management services to support the Office of the VPA and the Deans and Chairs of Seneca College in preparing proposals for new program launches for Seneca College. The Manager, Program Development will furthermore provide support as required throughout the program approval and implementation process.
Specifically, as directed and assigned by the VPA, the Manager, Program Development will: • Be responsible for information provision, research and analysis in the areas of labour market trending, Seneca competitive set market intelligence, statistical reporting, and education policy and development to the Office of VPA. • Provide monthly environmental scans which report on and provide analysis of overall education trends in the Province of Ontario and relevant developments in Canada and internationally generally. • Collaborate with Deans and Chairs to facilitate the process of program development and provide research to help position new program launches to be highly competitive in Ontario’s education market. • Serve as an internal liaison with the office of Institutional Research and participate in research and enrollment committees. • Participate in committees with specific academic departments and service areas which are involved in program planning and work with internal stakeholders relevant to program planning and development. • Assist in determining institutional capacity for specific program launches. • Consult with relevant industry stakeholders, trade, professional and academic associations with the intention of assessing industry opinion and market capacity for the likely success of Seneca Program launches. • Other duties as assigned by the VPA.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a Master’s degree (preferred). • Related, progressive experience, knowledge in education trends and student recruitment, and an understanding of post-secondary education in Ontario. • Experience in market research, analysis and statistical reporting. • Quantitative and qualitative analytical and research abilities; critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Competence with Microsoft Office suite. • Superior attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet competing deadlines. • Well-developed written and oral communication skills. • A commitment to diversity and equity to interact effectively with the College’s diverse student and staff population.
