Position Overview The Manager, Student Recruitment is responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff and the College community in the development and delivery of student recruitment activities for domestic, direct and non-direct markets, with support from the recruitment team. The incumbent develops on-and off-campus initiatives and manages all major communications with prospective students, guidance counsellors and other external stakeholders. This portfolio is critical to ensuring that recruitment strategies and projects are designed to meet the College’s enrolment goals. The incumbent liaises with the divisions to achieve targets and provide leadership and support to staff, while managing the day-to-day recruitment function.
Responsibilities • Leads and direction services and activities in Student Recruitment, including secondary school liaison visits, non-direct promotions, on- and off-campus recruitment events, e-communications and telephone campaigns.
• Analyzes and reports on recruitment and enrolment metrics, labour trends and marketing techniques in the sector.
• Consults with admissions, academic administration and faculty to achieve enrollment objectives.
• Serves on the Strategic Enrolment Management Group, which informs new recruitment techniques, and provides leadership to the recruitment team.
• Hires, trains and supervises recruitment officers, contract staff, student assistants and tour guides.
• Oversees the delivery of timely and accurate College information to prospective students.
• Coordinates staffing resources to maximize the number of high school visits, presentations and other recruitment activities.
• Manages and evaluates all aspects of events, such as Open House, program spotlights, the call campaign, and pre-admissions orientations.
• Develops marketing strategies for recruitment events in consultation with admissions staff, senior executives, academic leaders, and external stakeholders.
• Manages all prospective student inquiries.
• Participates on provincial recruitment committees and keeps up with trends in enrolment management through professional development.
• Provides relevant information for the maintenance of online recruitment tools.
• Manages on-campus events and provides proactive communications through social media.
• Develops training materials and supervises tour guides.
• Mentors and supports full, part-time and contract staff.
• Adheres to official policies, guidelines and agreements.
• Monitors the budget for staffing and recruitment activities, in consultation with the Executive Director.
Qualifications • Completed three-year degree/diploma in business, administration, social sciences, marketing/communications, social media, or related fields.
• Five years related progressive work experience.
• Proven ability to present effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media.
• Skilled in the use of social media, website applications and Microsoft Office.
• Well-developed leadership skills, proven success in overseeing complex projects and events, and the ability to develop a broad range of communications materials.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with Seneca’s diverse communities, as well as prospective/current students and parents.
• A valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle are required for frequent travel between campuses and to meetings.
