Position Overview Seneca College Libraries and Learning Services are looking for a part-time (maximum 24 hours) Marketing Communications Assistant to assist with implementing the annual marketing communications plan. Working under the direction of the Project Management and Strategy Development Librarian, this position will write, design and distribute content by promoting activities and events to all Seneca students.
Responsibilities • updating and maintaining various social media accounts
• writing and designing print and electronic marketing materials
• communicating with Library and Learning Centre employees in the implementation of the annual communications and marketing plan
• ensuring marketing material is printed and available at all key locations for distribution
• working with Seneca Marketing/Communications to ensure consistent messaging to audiences
• increasing student traffic through effective marketing
• preparing presentations using PowerPoint and other presentation software
• compiling data and preparing charts and graphs usage and statistics using MS Access
Qualifications • Completed Degree/Diploma required in Communications, Marketing, or English with an emphasis on written communication. If education is in a related field, state how it is related.
• Minimum 1 year business experience creating marketing communications material (writing/designing)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience creating presentations and using social media
• Excellent research, writing, proofreading, editing and grammatical skills
• Experience producing content across a range of media, including print and digital formats
• Analytical skills for researching, analyzing, interpreting and presenting information
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and co-ordinate a number of projects/programs simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and have effective interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide variety of contacts
• Experience with professional and personal use of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube preferred
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Photoshop

NOTE: A print or online portfolio of recent materials created will be required at the interview phase.
Weekly Hours of Work Up to 24 hours per week.
