The Manager, College Services works with key stakeholders to assist the Director with the development, communication and implementation of service in the Bookstore, Parking and One Card and Shuttle Bus operations. In conjunction with the Director, she/he manages vendor contracts; provides support to the College community during the introduction of services; and identifies potential legal liabilities. The incumbent supports the provision of a safe and service-focused working and learning environment for students, staff, and guests on Seneca campuses.
• Develops implementation strategies and policies & procedures to manage changes in service operations and business development projects. • Maintains a current, broad base of knowledge, skills and abilities in areas related to the position. • Completes well-researched needs assessments; recommends plans/options to address stakeholders' concerns. • Identifies potential sources of conflict and addresses them appropriately. • Assists the Director in maintaining a safe working and learning environment. • Ensures effective implementation and management of College vendor contracts, and College policies and procedures for assigned service areas. • Submits campus reports, assists with investigations in instances of fraud, losses or other business interruptions. • Participates with security staff in investigation of major safety and security incidents and issues in assigned service areas. • Analyses trends and patterns and makes recommendations to counter such incidents. • Communicates with the College community gathering information, sharing ideas and creating trust and credibility. • Builds positive employee relations in a unionized environment. • Assists the Director with the budgeting process. • Designs and delivers orientation training sessions to College Services staff. • Participates as a member on various Advisory Committees.
• Completed 3 year Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Hospitality. If another field, state how related. • Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in a similar or related position. • Proven experience in vendor relationship and/or contract management in a post-secondary environment strongly preferred. • Experience managing complex relationships, and working with challenging internal/external clients. • Experience with implementing change within a large organization, and identifying and managing risk. • Experience working in a revenue generating environment and in budget development and monitoring. • Exemplary customer service skills and strong leadership skills. • Superior conflict resolution skills and knowledge of mediation and alternate dispute resolution methods. • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information. • Understanding of post-secondary community. • Organizational design and management knowledge. • Effective problem solving and analytical skills with knowledge of research practices. • In depth knowledge of computer systems and technology, proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word. • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to be able to successfully perform in a diverse work and learning environment • A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel to other campuses.
