Position Overview Reporting to the Manager, College Services, the incumbent is responsible for screening calls and connecting incoming telephone calls to the appropriate Seneca Resource and extension and for providing information recourse for all college locations.
Responsibilities • The Switchboard Operator is the first telephone contact the public have with Seneca College
• Providing quality service to the call is the prime concern to ensure this initial contact is a positive experience
• Process incoming external and internal calls to the appropriate extension
• Provide information recourse for all College locations
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications • Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, online database systems and email.
• Demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills; ability to prioritize and communicate with a customer service orientation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the College’s multi-cultural/racial/able staff, students, and faculty.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and work independently as well as in a team environment; initiative and adaptability to changing situations and workload.
• Knowledge of Cisco IP Phone Systems is an asset
• Knowledge of College Operations is an asset
• Experience in a customer call center is an asset
Weekly Hours of Work Up to 24 hours per week.
