Reporting to the Director, International Business Development, Europe and Americas, the incumbent provides support in managing, coordinating, planning and developing activities to sustain and enhance growth and expansion of enrollment for students from the Americas. The Recruiter, Americas provides assistance in setting targets and helping direct international advertising, promotion and marketing efforts ensuring the College maintains high visibility throughout the target countries. The incumbent builds business relationships and seeks international linkages and institutional-strengthening projects in their target markets. The Recruiter, Americas also provides back-up and acts on behalf of the Director in his/her absence. The incumbent contributes to the establishment of the budget planning process and internal policies, procedures and practices.
• Contributes to and executes the international student recruitment plan within and outside Canada to attract qualified non-Canadians to full time College programs. • Follows up with prospects/leads and new agents’ inquiries in a timely manner to ensure optimum conversion and customer service. • Assists Seneca’s Marketing Department in designing appropriate promotional materials for production by the College’s Media Services Department and/or by third parties. • Reports on assessment of new market potential for international student recruitment through preliminary studies in Canada. • Enhances the international reputation of the College by developing and implementing student exchanges, faculty exchanges and joint-venture projects. • Maximizes the usage of available financial, human and physical resources through effective and sound planning and business practices.
• A completed 3-year Diploma/Degree or its equivalent in Sociology, Counselling, or International Business/Marketing. • Experience living/working in the Americas for a minimum cumulative period of 1 year. • Incumbent must have working knowledge of at least one of these languages: Portuguese or Spanish (preferred). • Excellent English language skills, both oral and written. • Must have knowledge of cultures and customs of South America and the Caribbean, interpersonal skills, negotiation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and time management skills. • Competency with Microsoft Office programs. • 3 Years’ experience working with educational systems in various countries in the Americas, evaluating credentials and grading practices in different countries in the region. • Should have experience working in international settings which require superior interpersonal and customer service skills to interact with diverse multicultural groups.
