Position Overview i3 Senior Business Analyst – Financial System
(Contract Dates: As soon as possible until April 30, 2014)

Reporting to the Director, Finance, and with direction of the Finance Team Lead, the Senior Business Analyst (SBA) provides subject matter expertise to cross functional business process and systems proficiency in relation to the ERP Project and legacy College business activity. The SBA interactively works with and supports the finance functional team, the service provider, and business stakeholders to define the current and planned business processes, detailing the needs assessment and translating business requirements into measurable technical specifications.
The SBA acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of the project through complex business process analysis, identification and evaluation of processes for improvement and mapping of new cross functional processes, and the prioritization and cataloguing of business requirements. As leader of the business analysis team, the SBA is responsible for the monitoring and validation of business functional requirements.
Responsibilities • Collaborates with business units to oversee operational ERP requirements. Identifies documents and recommends system and business process improvements involving complex IT and business process issues.
• As the Liaison, interacts with internal and external business stakeholders to plan process definition collecting efforts that will identify system changes to current and future needs.
• Collaborates and facilitates with business owners, stakeholders and system users to maximize the effectiveness of adopting the new systems and system changes.
• Performs complex problem diagnosis, detailed analysis and complete investigation of system failures, issues and provides recommendations on corrective actions.
• Catalogs, controls and tracks business requirements within the Business requirements traceability matrix, and ensuring that the matrix is current and accurate.
• Reviews and edits business requirements, processes recommendations to meet user needs and system requirements and ensures documentation contains measureable clarity.
• Completes detailed and complex system functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, modifications, customizations and extensions.
• Documents and informs Finance Team Lead of information that may identify challenges to project schedules, missed project deliverables, incomplete tasks or inaccurate results.
• Attends and completes training courses relevant to assigned Financial modules.
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of financial systems and financial processing and manages the performance of resources assigned.
Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration (Finance stream).
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience with ERP implementations in the public and private sector.
• Experience in business analysis and the preparation and management of configuration/functional specifications.
• Proven project management skillsets; ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex projects.
• Proven team-building skillsets with technical and non-technical staff.
• Self-motivated, results driven and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (i.e., SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.)
• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills are essential to interact with the College’s multi-cultural/racial/able staff, students and the public and to promote student life.
• Accounting designation preferred
