i3 Middleware Lead- Initiatives and Opportunities (Contract)

The PeopleSoft Middleware Lead role is responsible for designing and implementing Seneca’s middleware strategy. With a strong knowledge of service oriented architecture, the scope of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, installation, configuration, integration and solutions development throughout the project’s System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Middleware Lead provides ongoing support to the i3 project team, and Middleware Developers. Identifies issues and resolution management approach, performance and capacity analysis / planning and new systems deployment. The Lead is responsible for planning and assigning of work-packages to the Middleware team. Evaluates project requirements and specifications to ensure completeness. Ensures team members are effectively resourced with the best tools possible to execute their assignments. Reviews completed work effort and is responsible for the successful delivery of results of the team for both the PeopleSoft and Oracle applications suites.
• Conducts Middleware installations, configuration and upgrades along with general maintenance. Supports defined policies, standards and procedures for change control. • As a participant, assists in the planning and execution of projects. Supplies expertise to support project team members. • Evaluates the required assigned tasks and submits the estimate to complete the effort. • Monitors the processing operations to ensure that performance is within the acceptable limits. • Analyses performance, determines appropriate action and recommendations. • Coordinates with vendor activities.Creates and maintains system documentation. (Middleware systems policies and procedures.) • Plans, designs test requirements and executes system tests. • Evaluation of software update notices. Planning scheduled updates, including impact analysis, recovery planning and testing. • Other duties as assigned.
• 3 year college diploma/degree or equivalent in Technical training for specific computer related equipment or application and systems support. • A minimum of 5 years’ practical work experience in a similar role. • Ability to apply complex work on complex technology based assignments, with a proven track record to manage changing priorities. • Strong working knowledge of Oracle fusion middleware architecture or similar. • Working knowledge of Peoplesoft will be an advantage • Strong Service Orient Architecture (SOA) knowledge and experience. • Software support methods that would be adaptable to the changing environment. • Ability to analyze complex software problems. • Ability to effectively communicate to your clients. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. • May need to provide standby support to systems when required. • Relevant technology certifications in good standing or in development.

Hourly Wage Rate
Payband K: Start rate $36.97 , Maximum rate $42.86
Weekly Hours of Work
40 hours (overtime as required).
