PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Our client is a leader in the Construction and Environmental industries who have quickly grown from $1mil in sales in 1998 to $250mil in sales in 2013. Their next goal is $1bil in sales in the next 10 years and they are looking for a Vice President of Business Development to take their revenues to the next level.
The primary purpose of the Vice President of Business Development is to consistently attain targeted revenue and profitability goals and set the vision & strategy for the sales team. In order to accomplish these goals, the VP of Business Development must develop sales plans to ensure growth in all revenue streams, formulate objectives, performance standards & priorities for the sales team and ensure that selling models facilitate market penetration.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Demand Generation 50% - Develop and own business development forecasts to ensure revenue attainment. Manage, measure, and execute targeted and compelling business plans to grow pipeline and achieve revenue goals. Create and drive business development. Identify and leverage best practice pipeline growth activities (business planning, development, execution and measurement)
Deal Execution 30% - Provide strategic executive deal support and sponsorship to the field on strategic, must win accounts. Work strategically with senior executives to articulate, refine, and drive execution of go to market plans. Ensure resources are effectively coordinated and mobilized to expedite deal status.
People Management 20% - Act as a Leader, role model, and coach on industry innovation, resource management, and leadership.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree preferred
Demonstrated success positioning oil and gas/construction/environmental business applications
Experience managing and motivating sales teams
Marketing planning & pipeline building experience
Ability to create and deploy best practices approach as well as strategic alternatives
Experience working with multi-million dollar deals is imperative
