The Skinny
Our client - while a relatively small company (35 people total) - is the brand leader in providing a complex marketing solution to the financial venture capital & natural resources sector. The key focus of the role is to consolidate, lead & expand the national sales team with the primary end goal of growing revenue. The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales leader with a background from software (SaaS), advertising, online and/or financial investments, who is adept at sales process/operations and an excellent team coach & sales leader.
 
Responsibilities
- Lead & coach a small sales team (approx. 6 people) focused on B2B sales, that team will also be growing
- Develop & implement strategic sales strategy in conjunction with CEO
- Grow total sales team revenue as well as individual contribution to above $5m
- Contribute to new product development strategies and ideas
- Reinforce appropriate effective sales behavior & processes
- Analyze & report sales data to CEO
- Retain & hire top sales talent, performance manage under-performers
- Active participation in the senior executive team to help drive ongoing success
 
Requirements
- A passion for the Canadian stock market and financial industry, along with a strong understanding of the investment community (specifically oil and gas and mining), would be really valuable as it would give you a lot of credibility
- At least 5 years in a sales leadership role, this is essential experience as it’s a key focus
- At least 4 years as an individual business development sales person
- Experience selling software (SaaS, such as a media monitoring software), online advertising and/or related services
- Ideally knowledge of financial markets and investor relations community, especially natural resources and technology companies
- Superior networking and social skills
- Polished professional demeanor
- A supportive, positive personality that also knows when to drive people to success
 
There will be approx. 25% travel to Calgary and Toronto. Compensation package is a combination of base salary and with an expected total OTI earnings expected to be around $120-150k from base, bonuses and individual commissions.<
