Role Summary
 
The Quality Control Specialist role for CIRA MEDICAL SERVICES will be responsible to:
 
  • Ensure optimum report quality and support the various  functional areas wherein the conclusions are consistent with the report content, medical-based evidence, and within the scope of the assessor’s expertise; as escalated when appropriate
  • Working with each manager,  supports  Quality Assurance standards
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with the other division managers and Operational team leads
  • Conduct functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments, worksite visits, and job demands analyses where necessary.
 
This is currently a temporary position with the strong chance of extension with performance objectives met.

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation in their area of technical expertise
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with proven prioritization skills

Responsibilities
 
The QA Proofer is responsible for ensuring optimum report quality within their respective function including the following:
 
o   Consistency between the  report content and provided file documentation
o   Sufficient and appropriate content with regards to the purpose of the assessment and the referral questions
o   Client expectations are addressed within the assessment process
o   The overall content of the report conforms with all applicable legislative requirements
o   The conclusions are consistent with the report content, medical-based evidence, and within the scope of the assessor’s expertise
  • Manage applicable spreads to ensure appropriate workload distribution and timely delivery of reports within their respective function
  • Identify and implement improvements within their respective functions to increase efficiency within the overall QA processes
  • Collaborate with all other QA divisions to ensure appropriate integration of the final report product
  • Liaise closely with the operational division to ensure quality assurance feedback is provided and incorporated appropriately into the process
  • Provide feedback to the Director of QA or Medical Director with regards to optimization of the assessor roster within their respective function
  • Complete annual performance reviews for their respective direct reports
  • Participate in any internal departmental meetings as requested
  • Other duties as delegated
Education, knowledge and experience required
 
  • University health sciences degree, related to the role
  • Familiarity with common musculoskeletal and psychological/mental health conditions specific to insurance and employer markets. 
  • Three (3) years minimum IME industry experience is an asset
  • Three (3) years of related clinical experience is preferred
  • Excellent command of the English language (Written and verbal)
  • Experience with Ergonomic evaluations is an asset
