||Research Planner 2 (UNDER REVIEW)

||Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 5:00pm (Compressed Work Week) *under review*
PLEASE NOTE: The successful applicant will be required to work evening and/or weekend hours.
||Temporary Full Time
||This temporary position will conduct planning studies, community engagement activities, short and long range planning under the direction of a superior in the Community Services Department, with work projects that will support the areas of Parks, Recreation, Arts, Culture, Heritage, or Community Social Development. Evening and weekend work will be required for meetings, open houses, or other operational demands. An extension to the initial period of employment is possible, but subject to required approvals. Examples of key work activities include:
|Education & Experience
||A graduate degree is required with an emphasis on Social Planning, Urban Geography or a related discipline as well as sound knowledge and five (5) years experience in community recreation, community development, social planning and community social services, arts and heritage, preferably within a municipal environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
|Knowledge & Skills & Abilities
|Licences & Certificates & Registrations
- Valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia.
- Eligibility for membership in Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) or Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC).
